Everyone knows that exercise is highly beneficial, and should be a part of everyone’s routine. But even the most knowledgeable fitness enthusiasts and experts forget to focus on the thing that is the most exposed: the face. That is right; your face also needs exercise and toning like the rest of your body.
People assume that once you lose the weight, your face will automatically be toned down.
That is partially true, but if you want a more defined or chiseled jaw line, then you should opt for facial exercises that will help you achieve the look.
You will be surprised to know that just 10 minutes a day can remarkably improve the shape of your face and give you tighter facial muscles in as little as a few weeks. You don’t need expensive treatments or surgeries to have a more toned face. These exercises will give your face the lift and structure it needs.
Facial exercise 1
This is a very popular technique done in yoga. It is actually a part of the face yoga routine. Open your mouth and take your tongue out as much as you can. Then roar just like a lion and open up your throat. Hold the same position of the face for about 10-15 seconds and repeat the cycle 5 times. Just make sure not to do this exercise in public to avoid people from giving you strange looks.
Facial exercise 2
This exercise is to tone the chin area of your face and is great for people trying to lose the double chin. There are people who are slim and yet they still have a slight double chin. This can be toned down if you do this exercise regularly. Just raise your lower lip so that it lifts up the chin. Hold on to this position for 5 seconds and then lower the chin by force. Make sure the lower lip still stays over your teeth. Repeat this cycle 10 times and do this thrice a day for faster results.
Facial exercise 3
This exercise is called the smiling Buddha. Just fold your lips inward so that they are not visible and smile by raising the sides of your mouth. Repeat this exercise 10-15 times a day for seeing a significant difference to the sides of your face.
Facial exercise 4
Have your first two fingers rest on your eyebrows while your thumbs touch your cheekbones. Push and press the fingers on your eyebrows upwards and close your eyes for 30-40 seconds. This exercise is especially great for people who want to give a lift to the eye area and you can see results after a few months.
Facial exercise 5
Make an ‘O’ shape with your mouth. Position the lips in such a way that they are over the teeth and make a round or circular form. Put your fingers at the end of your lips and lightly push upwards yet still maintain the O shape with the muscles of your lips. Release and repeat 20 times.
You can alternate these exercises everyday or do them all one by one but you have to stay consistent in order to see any improvement.
