The easiest way to know you need a detox is to see if you are suffering from the following:
- Irritated skin
- Sugar cravings
- Lastly, having zero motivation to do anything.
For some, detox may be a luxury, but it is the most vital part of ensuring we are doing well. With the increase of toxins in our environment, the question isn’t of if we should step foot in the wellness world or if I need a detox, but rather of when we should start detoxifying.
Identifying any of the above-mentioned symptoms is the first step. The second step understands that crash diets or a fast crash detox won’t matter if as soon as it ends, the first thing you do is go back to the unhealthy lifestyle you previously had.
Also, one thing to keep in mind is to avoid supplements as much as you can. They might seem nutritional, but often times are marketed for the wrong reasons and have side effects that can affect our journey of healthy living. The best thing to do is always go for natural items and never for the artificial ones. You may have heard of age-old tips and tricks for certain solutions to problems associated with skin, hair, body and overall self. They do work if you try them, observing the good old natural ways would get you to see changes in your body.
What is left to understand is as mentioned previously, crash detox diets don’t work and if you are thinking of doing it for a couple of days and going back to your current unhealthy lifestyle. If that is what you plan to do, there is no point in starting a detox.
Anyhow, it is important to know that detox does not mean restricting your diet to tea, lemon water or strict juice cleanses. Detox is for your overall health, so removing unhealthy toxins and processed foods is the way to get started, and adding some exercise would just make it a great start. Once you start seeing changes, there is no going back. You only go forward from here towards a healthier life.
